Honey Colored Sadness

Today I went to starbucks and saw a pretty lady. She reminded me of honey, fall, and beautiful things. You are too beautiful to be so sad.

10 minute photoshop doodle.

Omigosh. This is soooo old. Back from 2009. Isn't he so creepy? I actually really, really enjoy spooky/creepy things...but am a wuss at horror movies. I've been thinking about my love of zombies recently, and how, even after advice from some people I respect, I still haven't embraced showing some of the "less cute" work that I do. Maybe I should dig myself out of that niche and start sharing the creepy/weird stuff I draw on here too. Or maybe I am cursed to like cute things too much.

So over the past few weeks since graduation, I've been amazingy busy. I got married, moved house, and stacked a few freelance jobs. Nic and I took a road trip up to his aunt's house near Sacramento, and we took the abhorrently long but stunningy beautiful coast road.

I really loved the ride, and we got to stop in at Monterey and visit the aquarium. I plan on doing a few more of these landscapes. Trying to remember things I found stunning. Not a great translation, but I'll keep tweaking and changing my tactics with photoshop. Maybe try out a few new things.

Reworked some famous characters. These designs have been in my head for a couple days now. Obsessed with the colors, more to come most likely.

Goofing around in Illustrator. I should go back to animating in TvPaint...if I know what's good for me.

Cool teen hispter I saw in a restaurant while I was in Anchorage of the Winter Break.  Got around to coloring it, not in the folio.

Animating and things

Hey folks.  Just dropping word.  I've been pretty busy with my film these days, and I plan on being that way...until its done. With minor diversions such as updating my portfolio and resume in the next week or so.

Here's a couple stills from the film.

Warm-up work

These are just a few little things I made today, warming up into working on my film.

Huesera makes an appearance-- worked on a wood piece request from a friend.

These two are little 3x3 gouache illustrations I made. Aesop's / La Fontaine fables. Can you guess the fables?

"La Huesera" Backgrounds

A few backgrounds from my film, out of order from when they appear in it! Ahahaha!  Large-view to see a better image, the thumbnails make the images look a bit "fuzzy" because of the drawing technique.  Image some blue watercolor coursing through the far background of the last image, too.

Mama Bear Card

Playing with making more Stationary/ cards. This one is aimed at pregancy announcements/ baby showers. I like the original best.

Done drawn me a wolfie.  Per a few people's request, but the original artwork is for my grandfather.

Been in Alaska these past couple weeks, and it was definately a trip that will impact me for years to come. I hope to get back there someday. Nic and I had a great time with his mom, and I took tons of photos.  Here's a few.
